  • Initial nominees: kidnapping opening, deer collision, cigarette-break runner, camera-flash seizure, family revelation, escape and ending. — Bill Simmons
  • Sunken place initially excluded as too disturbing, then accepted within cigarette-break sequence; gardener running and Georgina adjusting wig contribute dread. — Bill Simmons
  • Kidnapping opening praised as disorienting horror, with Scream parallel. Headlock/car clues, camera pivot, Swahili warning and subsequent Redbone sequence form three openings. — Wesley Morris
  • Rose donut-shop introduction deceptively reassuring; shaving cream as white face reported from commentary. Girls character baggage makes one participant suspicious.
  • Phone-unplugging confrontation distinguished from flash seizure; Gabriel close-up conveys multiple identities with difficult exposed acting.
  • No sole choice in directly addressed reply, but phone confrontation and keys/Rose turn particularly loved. — Sean Fennessey
  • Scrapbook through keys revelation is a favorite stretch; picture count debated five versus nine, racial fetish revealed and Rod vindicated.
